Privacy Policy
Short version: CROAKDOWN is a local-first game. No account, no analytics, no ads, no location tracking, no third-party trackers. Game progress lives on your device. The only data leaving your device is the purchase receipt Apple or Google sends to verify what you bought — and even that is pseudonymous.
1. Who we are
CROAKDOWN ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by Red Frog Black, based in Penrith, England, United Kingdom. Contact: support@croakdown.com.
2. What data we collect
We designed CROAKDOWN to be local-first. The vast majority of your data never leaves your device.
2.1 Data stored on your device only
The following is kept in your device's local storage and never sent to us or any third party:
- Game progress: level completions, star ratings, world chest progress
- Currency balances: Lily Coins, Croak Gems
- Booster inventory: Tongue Tap, Lily Bridge, Whirlpool, Stillness, Boom, Rain Dance
- Heart count and regeneration timer
- Daily quest progress and claim history
- Streak counter and last login date
- Skin unlock list and equipped skin
- Reduced motion and audio preferences
You can export all of this at any time via Settings → Export My Data, and you can delete all of it via Settings → Delete Account.
2.2 Data processed by Apple / Google for purchases
When you make an in-app purchase or subscribe to Pond Pass:
- Apple App Store or Google Play handle the transaction. We never see your payment details.
- Their receipt (an opaque token) is passed to RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, to verify entitlement.
- RevenueCat may store an anonymous customer ID generated by them. We do not link this to your real identity.
2.3 Data we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
- We do not require account creation or login.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or calendar.
3. How we use data
- Local game data: solely to run the game on your device.
- Purchase receipts: solely to grant the items, gems, skins, or Pond Pass entitlement you bought, and to honour your right to restore purchases.
4. Children's privacy
CROAKDOWN is suitable for ages 3+ (PEGI 3 / ESRB E). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we collect no personal information at all, this is satisfied by design. Parents may use device-level parental controls to restrict in-app purchases.
5. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Access all data we have about you (it is on your device — Settings → Export My Data)
- Delete all data (Settings → Delete Account)
- Restore previous purchases (Settings → Restore Purchases)
- Cancel any active subscription via your platform's subscription manager
- Contact us at support@croakdown.com with any data-protection question
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
6. Subscription terms
Pond Pass subscriptions auto-renew at the listed price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel any time via Apple ID Subscriptions (iOS) or Google Play Subscriptions (Android). Free trials, where offered, convert to paid at the end of the trial period unless cancelled before then.
7. Third parties
The website is served from GitHub Pages. As standard infrastructure, GitHub may log IP addresses of requests to their servers — see github.com/privacy. We do not receive or process those logs.
Purchase verification is handled by RevenueCat. They process an opaque purchase token on our behalf and store an anonymous customer ID. They do not receive personally identifying information from us.
8. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes to this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes that affect what data we collect will be highlighted in-app on next launch.
